I am writing to apply for the position of Technical Support Intern at Miva, Inc. I am a Computer Science student at the University of Central Florida and my experience in hands-on technical projects and customer service has prepared me with the skills and mentality needed to excel as a Technical Support Intern. I am confident in my ability to provide outstanding support, quickly learn new technologies, and communicate efficiently with customers from many kinds of backgrounds.
As a Cube Satellite Hardware Engineer with the Knight Satellite Club, I researched, designed and helped implement a live video transmission system using OpenHD and Raspberry Pi. This required me to troubleshoot difficult hardware issues, adapt quickly to new platforms like OpenHD software, and clearly document technical solutions for others in my team also helping with the development of the live transmission system, skills which directly relate to solving customer issues. At my past job position as the Honors Student Worker at Florida State College at Jacksonville, I was involved with organizing events, supporting anyone at the office with technological needs, and maintaining a welcoming environment for every student and staff member. These actions do well at demonstrating my commitment to teamwork and service.
To continue with customer service, my past position as a Sales Associate at Rack Room Shoes made me develop strong communication and problem-solving abilities by assisting a wide range of customers, including Spanish-only customers. I was frequently responsible for ensuring customers had a positive experience, even under busy or stressful conditions, skills that come in handy when having the customer interactions that Miva values so much.
These experiences show my adaptability and willingness to help others, which are qualities I look forward to bringing to the team as a Technical Support Intern position at Miva, Inc.
